Vision and Mission

Vision

To be a State initiative that: includes actions to be carried out in the territory in order to deal with the effects of climate change; executes national policies related to conserve biodiversity, and the benefits from the ecosystemic and; improves the livelihoods of the Nicaraguan people by maximizing the best experiences in favor of the social development and the poverty reduction.

Mission

The Avoided Deforestation National Strategy (ENDE-REDD +) is seen as the political and strategic framework of the Nicaraguan State, it is designed to reverse the main causes of deforestation and forest  degradation by integrating the Nicaraguan Government view of social development at different management levels, and it counts on the public and private sectors.

This strategy is aimed to benefit agricultural producers and indigenous communities, especially poor communities or which are highly vulnerable by using forest development policy instruments, so it applies the restitution of rights approach on the use and benefit of the natural resources in a rational and sustained way with an emphasis on the adaptation of the production systems to the effects of climate variability and considering the potential and existing capital in the territory.
